This special Silk Feather Ceremonial Huipil is woven in 2 panels on a back strap loom. The piece shows a 4 selvedge ends. The red warp background is woven with different thin warp lines. The opening for the head shows 2 half-moons made with turquoise cotton cloth and silk embroidery. The randa is embroidered with cotton. The feather patterns symbolize the sun with the moon.
