Special two paneled Huipil woven on a back strap loom with 4 selvedge ends. The piece shows a white background and each of the panels is nicely brocaded with different patterns. Both panels are joined with a fine cotton randa (joining band). The V neck is embroidered with cotton as well. The piece is completely brocaded with designs. Geometric designs: planets Venus, zigzag – feather serpent and zoomorphic designs: turkeys and butterflies. All the colours are chemical dyes, except for the light purple on some of the brocade which is mollusk (shell), a natural dye.
