One panel for a tzute woven on a back strap loom. One end shows fringes and the other end has a hand stitched seam. The piece has a hole (damage) in the center, because of use. The background is woven with different warp lines.
Age: Approximately woven in the 1920’s.
Ethnic Group: Ixil
Origin: San Juan Cotzal, El Quiché
Materials: Cotton and cuyuscate; natural dyes: indigo, indigo plus (green), purple and orange.
