This set of four (4) hand-carved and painted puppets was inspired by the traditional dance masks used in social and religious ceremonies. “Nahualito” means little Nahual or Spirit. It is a Mayan belief that everyone has a protector or soul companion, a Nahual, often in form of an animal. While dancers perform dressed with costumes and masks, they transform into one’s animal or spirit. Each day has its own Nahual in the ancient ritual calendar of the Tzolkin and those born on that specific day are assigned to that Nahual. Colours, character and shape may vary without previous notice. If you desire a specific character please add a note when checking out; there is no guarantee of availability though. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping!
