Two blue paneled Corte or Skirt woven on a foot loom. The Skirt is woven with vertical and horizontal warp and weft thin white lines, which are repeated. The multicolor thick hand made “randa” or joining band creates an embroidered cross, Maya cross, on top. This style characterizes the skirts in San Juan Sacatepéquez. Skirts have been used nowadays for decorative purposes, like bedcovers and tablecloths because of their huge proportions. All the colours are chemical dyes, except fro the indigo blue.
