A special Silk Ceremonial Huipil from San Martin Jilotepeque, woven in two panels on a back strap loom.  The background of the huipil is woven with indigo dye. The piece shows a 4 selvedge ends. This Huipil is fully brocaded with geometrical figures (feather serpent symbols). The neckline is cut out and decorated with green velvet ribbon as well as the armholes. Four big green velvet ribbon rose adorn the front and sides of the neckline; symbolizing the moon. Notice the hand embroidered randa that joins the two panels in the centre and the sides. All the colours are chemical dyes except for the natural indigo blue.
