Unusual two paneled Huipil woven on a back strap loom with four selvedge ends. The piece has a frame of a purple edge and for both ends the purple frame is hidden in the weft thread. This every day piece has the characteristic of the “Cascarones” designs, which are geometrical patterns (rhombuses, zigzag and chevron) put together. Both panels are joined with a fine cotton and silk randa. The round neck is cut out and embroidered with cotton. The piece is completely brocaded with designs. Geometric designs: planets Venus, rhombuses, zigzag – feather serpent, chevrons and peine (comb).
