Bearing the weight of the sins of Humanity, his head bleeding and arms and feet struggling to continue, el Nazareno is on his Calvary carrying the green wooden cross. Notice the pain described on his face in such a dramatic gesture. Gorgeous brown glass eyes are highlighted by eyelashes and eyebrows and blood stains that fall from the Crown of Thorns. The arms are done in an articulated fashion; notice the fine hand carvings that make this piece unique. The piece has a stand with cobblestone designs, as if he was walking through the streets of Antigua. The traditional sash can be removed; it was only added as decoration.
