One paneled ceremonial Tzute or Utility Cloth woven on a foot loom, fully brocaded with different color designs. Feather serpent, stars and geometric designs are the main subject of the decoration. The red and yellow patterns are woven with silk. Different hidden weft lines show on the white background. Fringes decorate both ends. This piece is use to cover the “tamales’” (food) basket during the ceremony. All the colors are chemical dyes, except for the indigo which is a natural dye.
