Two paneled Corte or Skirt woven on a back strap loom. Ladies will wear this type of skirt as a wrap-around Corte and will tie it with a sash; one size fits all. This skirt shows a dark background with blue natural dye (indigo) and is woven with different horizontal red, orange, blue, pink, green and yellow warp lines every 1”. Some Cortes may have small geometrical designs woven in a section of the skirt. Huehuetenango is the only region from Guatemala where women weave their skirts on a back strap loom. The piece has a form of a tube and the unions are so excellent joined that it is very difficult to find the ends. All the colors are chemical dyes, except for the blue which is indigo. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping!
