Since the coast is warmer, their skin turns red or sunburned. This character is called “Cargador” and carries heavy loads on his back. The trademark of these characters is the nicely carved hair details; especially a lovely curl in the forehead. Notice the gracefully black painted eyes as well as the carved teeth in a lovely smiling gesture. Great patina on the back denotes use.
