Beautiful primitive-style hand carved image representing Saint John the Baptist. His cloths are brown robes with silver details that look very tattered as a reference to the years he spent in the wilderness. Notice the rusted aureole that symbolizes his holy status. Many layers of paint can be seen on this piece, a sign of the years that the piece has overcome. Saint John is the last of the prophets of the Old Testament and the first saint of the new. He predicted Christ’s coming and he baptized Him saying: “behold the lamb of God”. He is the Patron Saint of dealers and tailors, he is also identified with the forces of destiny, and he also protects shepherds. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping.
