Gorgeous ceremonial “Jicara” or cup made out of a gourd with magnificent carved details. The cup rests in a much elaborated silver base. The top has a lock that allows closing the device. The ancient Mayas believed that the Mayan Princes Hunahpu & Ixbalanque were born from a gourd tree; the gourd carried them in its guts. Nowadays, many traditional families still use gourds as a versatile kitchen artefact for liquids. Religious Brotherhoods will use them to drink chocolate or coffee during the ceremonies too. The silver base has fine decorative details and holders. The top of the cup has the shape of a flower. The gourd has carved-in flower motives on each side. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping!
