The following item belongs to the range of “Antique and Rare Items of the Casa de Artes’ Treasures Series”. A detailed Wedding Huipil woven in 2 panels on a back strap loom with 4 selvedge ends. This nuptial garment has an indigo cotton background and is decorated with silk brocaded designs with flower vases, flowers, birds and geometric figures. These sections are intercepted by one coloured stripped warp lines which are particular designs on the ceremonial huipiles from Comalapa. The v neckline is formed by the union of the two panels and decorated with black velvet ribbon as well as the armholes.
