2 panel Ceremonial Huipil for a Texel. The warp background is woven with cuyuscate and cotton.  The weft is woven with cuyuscate thread.  The piece shows a 4 selvedge ends. The opening for the arm holes have embroidery made with silk and alizarin.  The opening for the head is decorated with ribbon.  All the cuyuscate is hand spun. Natural dyes: yellow, indigo plus (green).  Special dyes: alizarin.  The designs are woven in all the huipil. Designs: zoomorphic: birds and spider; Geom.: stars, lightning, planets – Venus, mountains.
