One paneled hair band, woven on a treadle loom. These type of hair bands are woven in the town of Totonicapán. Almolonga hair bands are woven with a red back ground and both ends have different geometrical and zoomorphic designs which are woven-in using the two face brocading technique. These traditional patterns are woven with yellow, green, blue, white, red and purple. The pompons and fringes are put separately, using the same color threads and materials. All the colours are chemical dyes. The piece has been set on a cotton ring for display purposes. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping!
