This piece has a unique carving; two lizards come out of the devil’s head to create the most incredible wicked look. Many of the Guatemalan Devil Masks have animal figures as decorations. The character is not necessarily evil; some pieces will be decorated with diverse symbols to represent different kind of personalities, good or evil.  A lizard for instance, represents moist, and that is related to moist tongue or mouth, that results in the ability to speak, so this Devil Mask has many stories to tell. On December 7th people celebrate the famous “Quema del Diablo” – Burning of the Devil, a purification ritual before Christmas Celebrations. Dancers dressed with red and black costumes will dance around the bonfires. The mouth has two horse teeth that, combined with the facial gesture complete a scary look. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping.
