Many highlanders come to the coast looking for an extra income and work during the harvest season in the lower lands. Carved hair and moustaches, thick eyebrows, fading beard and the rare blue and brown glass eyes highlight the looks of this hard working cattleman. The lovely smiling gesture is remarked with red lips and carved teeth. This Vaquero or Cowboy appears in the “Baile Convite”, a disguises parade. The skin has many layers of old paint and fractures all over that have been fading away, because of time and use, and created a curious look for the mask. The piece has an extraordinary gorgeous look, but it is the backside patina that tells the many adventures and events that this piece has overcome.
