This piece has an elegant black background highlighted by a white snout and red painted eyes. A delicate nose is decorated with fine low relieve carved holes. Notice the big eyes surrounded by red circles that combined with masterly carved ears with red details give the piece a special look. The back shows the Diego Buchan Morería sign “DB”. Monkeys are present in almost every Ceremonial Dance; they act as buffoons and have the important roll of collecting money from the public for the Religious Brotherhood that sponsors the event.
