Ceremonial Conquistador Mask used during the Dance of the Conquest. This character represents a Spanish soldier; a captain or a simple combatant. During the Dance, they will fight against the Mayan Warriors. Blond hair, sideburns and moustaches are nicely carved. Notice the gracefully black painted eyebrows and eyelashes that highlight the beautiful brown glass eyes. Sunburned cheeks, forehead, ears and nose denote the European origin of the character. Spectacular high relieve carved flowers decorate his head. Patina on the back denotes use.
