This character represents a very important Mayan Chief, his name is “Huitzizil Tzunum”, that means Humming Bird. This character is carved in a famous Mayan Stella in the Archeological site of Copán, Honduras. The piece is surrounded by multicolor petals and in the character’s forehead a red humming bird can be found. This Mayan Chief leads the warriors into the fight with the Spanish Conquistadores. Notice the painted eyelashes and eyebrows and moustache carvings that complemented with a beautiful black eye and red lips give this piece a vivid look. Patina on the back denotes use.
