The Patzcar Dance is a very good example of the Indigenous view about the European colonization and the Western Culture. The word "Patzcar" means Boss; the plot of the ceremony is the life at a ranch and the cowboys that work at the ranch are played by Indigenous people. The Patzcar has a wife or daughter, the "Patzcarina"; the cowboys will fight each other with whips (for real) to earn the love of the Patzcarina. The winner will take her away, fooling the boss. Most of the Patzcar Masks have white skin, moustaches and some even have sunburned cheeks, indicating the European roots. This character was painted grey with black hair details. The mask has fine carved hair and moustache details; a pair of brown glass eyes highlights the character's great look. Great patina on the back denotes many years of use; as well as the many scratches on the painting. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping.
