Three paneled huipil woven on a back strap loom. This piece is used as an everyday huipil and the white background is woven with handspun cotton. The everyday blouses can have a brown or white background. The huipil is decorated with four “Double Headed Eagle” designs which (when the huipil is extended) will form the Mayan Cross with the Sun in the center (neckline decoration). Cotton and wool are used to weave these brocaded decorations. The neckline is cut out and decorated with hand embroidered cotton thread symbolizing the sun. Two round satin fabric decorations are sewn on each arm side, which represents the two phases of the moon. The woven Randa or union band is elaborated with cotton in the upper section. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping!
