This piece has the typical monkey looks of the Rabinal masks showing the prominent snout. The eyes are highlighted with white eyebrows and yellow painted eyelashes that give the character a vivid look. The black face is decorated with delicate low relieve carved lines that are gold painted. The masterly carved snout adds personality to the mask. The tiny red lips with small teeth and the painted ears give this monkey an elegant look. The green frame is a landmark of the Rabinal Workshops.
