This is an extremely rare piece that belongs to the Dance of St. George in its Rabinal version called “La Sierpe”. The character represents a Small Dragon and it is in charge of guiding the large dragon to eat the virgins in the tale of St. George. In the dance, this character and his “bigger” dragon represent all that is evil, and St. George and Christianity, all that is good. The character has an elegant green background highlighted with golden details. The thick golden eyebrows highlight the pink and gold painted eyes with golden aureoles. Notice the black nose and moustaches that combined with tiny painted teeth give the mask a unique look. The forehead has a golden curl. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping.
