Colonial Houses in Antigua had a large collection of Religious Images as decorative items. The piece is “undressed” because the owner would have dressed the image according to his taste; most of the times with robes. Notice the carefully carved hair, moustaches and beard decorated with curls. Beautiful light brown glass eyes and blushed cheeks and fine lips give the piece a lovely expression. The piece has articulated joints in order to present different positions and gestures. The figure sits on a wooden stand. The fingers of both hands and feet are complete, a rare condition in such an old piece.
