Unusual one panelled sash woven on a back strap loom. The old style of Santa Maria de Jesus’ sash shows coloured stripes on the warp of the sash (purple, red, green and blue) with their zoomorphic delicate brocade (birds, deer, eagles and butterflies); but it is very common to see that women in the 1970’s weaved sashes with San Juan Sacatepéquez background (purple, red and yellow) with Santa Maria de Jesus’ brocade. The piece has the name “ELENA” woven, which is the weaver’s name. All the colours are chemical dyes. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping!
