Rare beautiful Colonial style miniature representation of Christ’s Passion, “el Nazareno” or “the Man from Nazareth”. Bearing the weight of the sins of Humanity, his head, hands and feet are bleeding in a dramatic scene. He is struggling to continue on his way to the Calvary while carrying the green wooden (removable) cross. Notice the pain described on his face in such an intense gesture. Gorgeous brown glass eyes are highlighted by eyelashes and eyebrows and blood stains that fall from forehead caused by the (removable) Crown of Thorns. The lovely carved hands and feet are in excellent condition, just a small crack on the paint in the left foot can be seen. The piece rests in a green painted stand. The red robe has magnificent golden details that give an elegant look to this extraordinary piece.
