In this occasion he is represented seating in a lovely wooden throne. His knees are raised in a seating position on Virgin Mary’s arm or in a chair with a scepter. He is part of the nativity or could appear by himself. The devotion to the Child began with the Wise Men and continued through stories of saints to whom the Child appeared. Notice the big gorgeous brown glass eyes highlighted by real eyelashes and painted eyebrows. Fine details on face, hands and feet make this piece unique. The piece is dressed after the traditional costume of San Antonio Aguas Calientes.
