Ceremonial Conquistador Mask used during the Dance of the Conquest. This character represents a Spanish soldier; a captain or a simple combatant. During the Dance, they will fight against the Mayan Warriors. The golden painted hair, the high relief sideburns, fine and stylistic moustaches denote the exquisite ability of the artist. Sunburned ears, nose and cheeks; red lips and golden painted eyebrows and blue glass eyes give this Conquistador a beautiful look. Notice the golden teeth that denote the wealthy social status of the character. The skin has many layers of old paint that have been fading away. The piece has a fracture in the lower chin’s paint. The different layers of paint as well as an incredible backside patina tell the many adventures and events that this piece has overcome. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping.
